About Alex Lanphear

Hailing originally from Maple Valley, WA, Alex serves King County and lower Snohomish County as a birth doula. She specializes in labor and birth support for underprivileged and homeless families and teens.

Alex found her way to doula work during her sister’s second pregnancy, and instantly fell in love with the compassionate, educational support that she could provide to new and seasoned parents alike.

Blue Moon Doula’s core belief is that everybody, with zero exceptions, deserves to have someone on their side who is going to remain on their side no matter their financial situation, age, race, identity, or birth plan.

Support Packages

If you are unhoused, living in a shelter, or under the age of 18, Blue Moon Doula services come at no cost or on a pay-what-you-can system.

    Can you relate? Not to worry! BMD offers same-month doula support at a highly reasonable cost.

    Package includes:

    • 1 Complimentary virtual Meet&Greet

    • 1 90-120 minute in-person Prenatal visit scheduled immediately after hiring

    • Assistance with creating birth plan

    • Unlimited resources and referrals

    • Continual labor and birth support to 1-2 hours postpartum

    • 1 virtual postpartum check-in 2-5 days following delivery

  • Every teen and parent deserve to feel educated, in control, and supported during this critical life event.

    Doula support takes the bulk of finding education, resources, and coping techniques off of your shoulders so that you can focus on what really matters: Family.

    Blue Moon Doula is committed to providing a safe, confidential, judgement-free environment to pregnant teens and their parents throughout pregnancy, labor, and postpartum.

    This package includes:

    • 1 complimentary virtual Meet&Greet

    • 3 In-person prenatal visits, more available by request

    • Unlimited text + call from point of hire

    • On-call from point of hire

    • Unlimited resources and referrals

    • Postpartum care referrals

    • Port-Birth Resources

    • Continual labor and delivery support

    • 2 Postpartum visits

Blue Moon Doula Provides…

  • 2 prenatal visits prior to due date

  • On-call for the period of 37 weeks to 42 weeks

  • Compassionate and Continual labor and birth support for birthing person and partner

  • Immediate postpartum support following delivery (1-3 hours)

  • 1 postpartum visit in the week following delivery

  • Information and referrals as requested
